NTAM since its inception and finished his training in London in 2004.
He has a keen interest in peri-operative hypothermia and has recently advised NICE on their guidance 'Perioperative hypothermia: Management of inadvertent perioperative hypothermia in adults'

Samantha WILSON, Vice-Chairman

Sam is an SpR on the North Central London anaesthetics rotation nearing the end of training. Her interests are obstetric and paediatric anaesthesia and she is currently dabbling into obstetric anaesthetic research as a fellow at UCLH. Other interests (aside from skiing, of course) are travel and having lived and worked in Germany, the United States, the Netherlands and most recently South Africa she is concerned that one day she may actually have to settle down in one place!

Nick Bunker is a trainee in both anaesthesia and intensive care from the
Imperial rotation in London. He is in the writing up phase of an MD and has just
started his final year of training. His interests are in burns and transfer medicine.

Tony was the first organiser of NTAM and trained in London. During his training, he completed a period in research, where he developed an interest in ICU infection and sepsis. He was conferred his MD in 2004.
UHB currently has the largest single ICU in the UK and is treats critically ill patients from every adult speciality. Since starting his consultant post in 2004, Tony has continued his research interests; he has set up clinical research at UHB and collaborates widely with groups from around the world and from the Royal College of Defence Medicine (based in Birmingham).

Elisa is a Consultant anaesthetist at UCLH and at The Heart Hospital in London.
She trained in Italy, where she was conferred an MD and spent a period of research working with Prof Gattinoni.
To further her anaesthetic expertise she moved to the UK in 2003 where she worked as junior doctor and undertook two Fellowships in Cardiothoracic anaesthesia and Anaesthesia for Liver transplant.
Since 2006, she is part of the Multidisciplinary Endovascular Team-UCLH, the largest centre for complex Aortic and Cardiac intervention in the country.

He has a wide range of research interests including: peri-operative fluid management and trans-oesophageal Doppler, haemostasis in the critically ill, endotoxin and endotoxin immunity and the determinants of post-operative morbidity and mortality. He has over 100 publications on PubMed and has extensive editorial involvement with a number of anaesthetic and critical care journals. He recently took part in "Caudwell Xtreme Everest" and as project leader spent 3 months as the laboratory manager at The Smiths Medical High altitude laboratory, Namche, Nepal (3,500m).
